Pizza Pizza Case Study

Pizza Pizza Limited is Ontario’s number one Pizza chain filling over 28 million customer orders annually.  There are 637 restaurants in the Pizza Pizza chain, 567 are branded Pizza Pizza and 70 are branded Pizza 73.  All the Pizza Pizza stores are franchisee operated while the Pizza 73 stores are owner operated. 

The Pizza Pizza business earns the majority of its revenues through sales of goods and supplies to franchisees. As the organization grew in number of locations there appeared to be a lag in revenues generated from sales of goods and supplies.  Franchisees may not have been reporting all sales activity accurately and the correlating orders of goods and supplies was not correct. 

To correct this Pizza Pizza mandated the installation of a Point of Sale solution in the stores and a mobile solution for deliveries. This resolved the issue, increased Pizza Pizzas revenues and increased store revenues by allowing clients to pay electronically instead of with cash.

Further, Pizza Pizza working with BNA was able to introduce the Pizza rewards card program which encouraged repeat business and enhanced consumer loyalty. The card program replaced the paper gift certificate program and saved administration and management costs.

Last, BNA developed a custom interface to Pizza Pizza’s store management systems. With BNA’s solution Pizza Pizza stimulated growth in sales, increased profitability through electronic payment, increased sales for franchisees and increased customer loyalty through the introduction of a Gift and Loyalty card program.
